Accreditations & standards

Credentials you can verify, not just claim

Clear Watch has held recognised security and safety accreditations since 2008. Each one is independently assessed, publicly checkable and backed by the licensing, training and management systems our clients rely on every day.

Why it matters

Accreditation is your due diligence, done in advance

When you appoint a security provider, you take on responsibility for the people they put on your site. Independent accreditation is how you evidence that the supplier meets the standard — for your own stakeholders, your insurers and your tenders.

Choosing an SIA Approved Contractor helps you meet your security obligations to staff, residents and other stakeholders, and gives you a supplier whose compliance is independently assessed rather than self-declared.

What our accreditations give you

  • Assurance that operatives are licensed and deployed within the law
  • Management systems audited against recognised industry standards
  • A partner who can evidence compliance for your own audits and tenders
  • Health, safety and risk practices checked by an independent assessor
  • Public records you can check yourself, at any time, before you commit

Our accreditations

Independently assessed, current and verifiable

Each accreditation below is held by Clear Watch Security Limited and maintained through regular reassessment. Scope is stated honestly — an accreditation applies to the activities it names, and we do not imply it covers services it was never assessed against.

SIA Approved Contractor

SIA Approved Contractor Scheme

Security Industry Authority

The Approved Contractor Scheme (ACS) is the SIA's voluntary benchmark for private security suppliers. Approved contractors are assessed against a demanding management standard and demonstrate a clear commitment to service quality and the compulsory licensing of their staff.

It means every operative we deploy is expected to hold, or be lawfully progressing, the correct SIA licence — so you can be confident the people on your site are working within the law.

What it covers for you

  • Independently audited operational and management systems
  • Licensed, vetted and trained security personnel
  • Status listed on the public Register of Approved Contractors
Scope: Security Guarding & Keyholding
SafeContractor Approved

SafeContractor Approved

Alcumus SafeContractor · SSIP

SafeContractor is a recognised health and safety accreditation. Our policies, procedures and competence are reviewed against the SafeContractor charter standards by an independent assessor.

The standards cover core areas including health and safety policy, risk assessment and first aid, alongside requirements specific to the security work we carry out.

What it covers for you

  • Documented health & safety management, assessed annually
  • Risk assessment and safe working practices on your site
  • A recognised route through your own contractor pre-qualification

ACT — Action Counters Terrorism

ACT — Action Counters Terrorism

Counter Terrorism Awareness

Our team completes ACT (Action Counters Terrorism) awareness training, the national counter-terrorism programme developed with NaCTSO, the police unit that supports counter-terrorism security advice to UK businesses.

This equips our officers to recognise suspicious activity, understand protective security and respond appropriately within the site's procedures. It is awareness training that strengthens our people — not a claim of specialist counter-terrorism authority.

What it covers for you

  • Officers trained to recognise and report suspicious activity
  • Counter-terrorism awareness woven into welfare and patrol routines
  • A more vigilant presence across public and shared spaces

Armed Forces Covenant

Signatory

Clear Watch is a signatory to the Armed Forces Covenant, a public pledge that those who serve or have served, and their families, are treated fairly.

For a security business it is a natural fit: service leavers, reservists and veterans bring exactly the discipline, reliability and situational awareness the role demands, and we welcome them.

What it reflects

  • A commitment to supporting the armed forces community
  • Recognition of the value ex-service personnel bring to our teams
  • Fair treatment for reservists and service families

Accreditation questions

What buyers ask about our credentials

The Approved Contractor Scheme is the Security Industry Authority's quality benchmark for private security suppliers. It assesses a company against a management standard covering areas such as service delivery, staff licensing, training and commitment to customers. Approved status is voluntary, independently assessed and listed on a public register, so it signals a supplier that meets a recognised bar rather than one that simply holds licences.

An SIA licence applies to an individual operative and is a legal requirement for licensable security work. SIA Approved Contractor status applies to the company and is a voluntary accreditation of how the business is run. In short: individuals are licensed, the organisation is approved. We hold the company approval and deploy licensed individuals.

Yes. Our SIA Approved Contractor status is maintained through regular reassessment. You can confirm it independently by searching the SIA's public Register of Approved Contractors, and we're happy to provide our current certificate and assessment scope on request.

Our SIA Approved Contractor status is held for Security Guarding and Keyholding — the licensable activities it is assessed against. We deliver our wider services, such as mobile patrols, vacant property inspections and concierge, to the same operating standards, but we're careful not to imply that ACS accreditation extends to categories it doesn't cover. If a specific service needs a particular assurance, ask us and we'll set out exactly what applies.

SafeContractor is a health and safety accreditation. It reviews our health and safety policies, risk assessments, first-aid arrangements and related competence against recognised charter standards, with an independent assessment. It's often the accreditation your own facilities or procurement team looks for when pre-qualifying a contractor.

Yes. We are implementing ISO 9001 quality management with external support, as part of our ongoing investment in consistent, documented service delivery. We'll update this page once certification is confirmed rather than claim it in advance.
